So what are agri-agencies? Agri-agencies are non-governmental organisations for international development cooperation with structural links to the farmers' and rural members' organisations in their home countries, including the organisations of rural women, young agrarians, cooperatives, and agri-businesses.
AgriCord itself is an alliance of 12 of these agri-agencies from a variety of countries. At the same time, AgriCord also has a secretariat in Brussels, which facilitates the work of the 12 agri-agencies. While each of these agencies runs its own administration and has its own programmes, AgriCord is able to run truly global initiatives, as each agri-agency brings its own added value to each of these programmes.
