International Web Conference: Multidimensional Resilience – Smallholder Producers Managing Risks 9-11 June, 10:00-16:00 (GMT+3)
How to ensure resilience of smallholder production systems in times of crisis?
How farmers and forest producer organizations (FFPOs) maintain functionality during and after the disturbances, and mitigate potential losses in the smallholder value-chains?
What is the current and future FPPOs capacity to respond to climate hazards and non-climate stresses such as Covid-19 pandemic?
An international web-conference will be organised on 9-11 June 2020, hosted by the Food and Forest Development Finland (FFD), AgriCord, FAO's Forest and Farm Facility, in collaboration with the Asian Farmers’ Association (AFA) and the Pan-African Farmers’ Organization (PAFO). The web-conference will include a series of web-seminars with pre-recorded and interactive sessions, implemented under the framework of FFP-Asean and AgriCord-FFF collaboration.
Objectives of the web-conference
- To gain understanding of FFPO responses and strategies (locally, nationally, regionally) in thriving greater resilience, with specific focus on climate change and Covid-19 responses.
- To engage institutional stakeholders on the agenda, increase their awareness in FFPO resilience, and to provide recommendations to these actors, and to exchange best practices and tools for increased resilience.
- To formulate common policy positions to promote resilient pathways to resilience, with specific focus on climate change and Covid-19.
The conference will be in English.
