09fdcc-5455 - Process of integration and advocacy in the Salvadoran cooperative Movement

Strengthening of the partner organisation and capacity building The Salvadoran cooperative sector has its main origin in the agrarian reform (1980’s) and the Peace Accords (1990’s). Due to its historical and political origins, it has received very little state support, which explains its current weakness and disintegration even though the Art. 114 of the Constitution establishes that “The State shall protect and foster Cooperative Associations, facilitating their organisation, expansion and financing.” To address this situation, 10 second- and third-degree organisations in the cooperative movement have joined and formulated a joint platform of advocacy. The project will strengthen this network of organisations so that its proposals will be heard and changes attained in favour of the cooperative sector. Budget: 2,213,098 SEK
