09pga-5372 - Strengthening the Pyrethrum Grower Association (PGA)

The pyrethrum Growers Association of Kenya (PGA) was established in 2001 to represent the interest of the small scale growers in pyrethrum, particularly vis a vis the pyrethrum Board of Kenya (PBK). The formation was initiated by the pyrethrum growers who faced a decline in pyrethrum production and had the desire to voice the underlying problems and grievances to the government and other stakeholders. Since 2003 PGA is an associate member of KENFAP. At the moment, PGA has 2000 individual members spread over 20 (old) districts. This project aims to strengthen the PGA as an organization focused on service delivery to their members and to establish an increased membership base.
