08uq-5130 - Weaving the oil seed web: Commercialising oilseed production by small holder farmers in North East Uganda
The Programme "Weaving the oilseed web" was actually launched in 2007 by UOSPA. This programme is part of a 5 year programme (2006-2010). UOSPA is supported by Agriterra, SNV, FAO and other partners. The main capacity building training was in promoting and use of new technologies and innovative farming focusing on agronomy, agro-input use, post harvest handling, marketing and on farm enterprise development. UOSPA will continue activities in this field in 2008. The aim is to reach a resilient commodity sector that can cope with the changing economic, social, political, environment, national and international market demand. Also, in future the chain should generate enough revenue and margin to enable UOSPA to fully operate on its own income without the financial assistance from external donors.
