work area 17: Processing of agricultural products
In this work area we promote the establishment of farmer led initiatives in the agro-industrial sphere, e.g. the cooperative processing of bananas, fruit and vegetables, sugar and quinoa (Bolivia) and the establishment of auctions (see http://cooperatives.agro-info.net). By the end of 2010, we will have helped to set up at least 20 of these business initiatives, with the participation of 70.000 farmers.
