work area 06: Development of training modules & facilities
This work area encompasses the work to develop training modules and facilities. Their is an intention to do this with the knowledge institutions of the Dutch public private partnership Agri-ProFocus. The training is aimed at the provision of training and education of directors and members of rural membership organizations. Via Agri-ProFocus and the National Cooperative Board and utilising the training capacity and curricula developed at IDACA (Japan) and other agri-agencies, a cooperative management training course for developing countries has to be elaborated. This includes courses in Japan and other home countries of agri-agencies, as well as in various developing countries and through e-learning. For the development and implementation of the programme knowledge institutions of Agri-ProFocus are requested to put their counterpart contribution. On our part, we will organize 50 training courses, e.g. on the experiences of farmers’ organizations with increasing commercial capacity in West Africa, on strengthening financial management, or on the introduction of ICT solutions. Most of the participants in these events are representatives of the target group, and the remaining group consists of staff members of various agri-agencies. Activities in this area will involve 35.000 farmers only in 2007.
