Sellale is a cooperative union (unions are composed by primary cooperatives and are directly involved in economic activities: input provision, credit facilitation; storage; commercialization, processing). Selalle has 19 member primary cooperatives. Two primary cooperatives are exclusively composed by women members. The cooperative union has a total of 1400 members, of which 1253 men and 147 women. The main focus is economic service provision to members in order to enhance milk production and to sell the milk products of member for the best possible price. The main activity so far is bulking and commercialization of fresh milk to Addis Ababa. The union expects to upgrade its activities (expansion and diversification of services provided to members: inputs, veterinary services, artificial insemination, financial services, processing)
