Strengthening of the partner organisation and capacity building The initial proposal was based on problems defined in a series of workshops with the participation of regional and grassroots leaders, field technicians and partners. Since the project began in 2006, five monitoring workshops have been held with a high level of participation that has enabled the annual operative plans to be adjusted based on recommendations from the target population. Strengthening of the partner organisation and capacity building The project contributes significantly to the organisational development and capacities of the ACAN, as well as to the promotion of gender equity. The project’s objectives are considered directly related to ACAN’s institutional strategy as an organisation defending the interests of campesinos, and for the provision of efficient services to its members. The actions are directed at the formation of national and regional leaders, farmer’s interest association development, strengthening of the credit system and processes of strategic and operational planning.
