Strengthening of the partner organisation and capacity building FECOOPA’s To Be is to defend, support and promote producer cooperatives using a self-management model that offers economic and political support to, and training of, human resources. This has enabled member cooperatives to increase their chances of competitiveness in the self-managed agriculture and food sector.The To Do and To Relate elements of the Federation are interdependent since one of the partner’s greatest strengths is its capacity for management and negotiation with the different public entities working with the cooperative and self-management sectors. The Federation keeps communications channels open with different State institutions (ministries, decentralized institutions, universities, etc.) as well as other linked cooperative organisms (the Permanent Commission on Self-Management Cooperatives – CPCA, and the National Cooperative Council - CONACOOP).FECOOPA has regained a strategic position within the cooperative sector that has enabled it to join other sectors and actors in the technical and scientific development of the country.
