On 29 April 2026 (14:00–16:00 GMT+2), AgriCord and the Pan-African Farmers’ Organization (PAFO) will host the first session of a 4-part webinar series titled “From Soil Degradation to Regeneration: Farmer-Led Innovations and Enabling Policies for Sustainable Soil Health in Africa.”

This first webinar will focus on farmer-led innovations for soil regeneration and health, highlighting how farmers and their organisations are developing and scaling agroecological practices adapted to local contexts.

Across Africa and beyond, farmer organisations play a central role in restoring soil health through practices such as composting, agroforestry, crop rotation and the use of organic inputs. Building on experiences from the FO-RI programme (Farmers’ Organisations Leading Research and Innovation on Agroecology), this session will showcase concrete examples of how farmers, researchers and partners co-create solutions that improve soil fertility, increase resilience to climate change and reduce dependence on external inputs.

The webinar aims to:

  • Share practical experiences of farmer-led soil regeneration practices
  • Foster peer-to-peer learning across regions
  • Strengthen collaboration between farmer organisations, researchers and partners
  • Contribute to evidence-based advocacy and policy dialogue on agroecology
