Why AAB?
In a context shaped by climate, geopolitical, health and economic crises, food sovereignty in Africa is a major strategic challenge. Farmers’ organisations, public decision-makers and partners increasingly need reliable, comparable and accessible data to guide policies, investments and advocacy.
To respond to this need, Afdi, PAFO and the FARM Foundation jointly initiated the African Agriculture Barometer (AAB). The tool offers structured analysis of agricultural and food system dynamics through accessible dashboards, maps and infographics.
During this session, we will:
- Present the Barometer and the methodology tested during the pilot phase
- Share key findings from the first pilot edition focused on the African dairy sector
- Discuss how the AAB can support analysis and advocacy for farmers’ organisations
- Exchange on how the tool can evolve and better inform cooperation and policy dialogue
- Speakers include: Katja Vuori (AgriCord), Dr Babafemi O. Oyewole (PAFO), Matthieu Brun (FARM Foundation), Maria Elena Ramirez (Afdi).
Moderation: Aimable Twagirayezu (PAFO)
