AgriCord is pleased to congratulate Anna Tibblin, Secretary General of We Effect, on her election as Vice-President of AgriCord.
Anna brings extensive experience in international development, food systems, cooperative business models, innovative financing and strategic partnerships. As Secretary General of We Effect, one of the world's largest cooperative development organisations, she works closely with farmers' organisations and cooperatives across Africa, Palestine, Eastern Europe and Latin America, championing sustainable rural development, food security and resilience through locally owned institutions.
Honoured by the confidence of her colleagues, Anna shared her vision for the alliance:
"It is a great honour to have been elected Vice-President of AgriCord. I am grateful for the confidence of my colleagues and excited to contribute to the next chapter of our alliance."
She also underlined the crucial role of organised farmers in addressing today's global challenges:
"Without farmers, there is no food. Investing in organised farmers is one of the smartest investments we can make for food security, sustainable development, resilient communities, and peaceful societies."
As Vice-President, Anna aims to help strengthen AgriCord as the world's leading alliance supporting smallholder farmers' organisations and cooperatives. Her ambition is to mobilise greater investment, forge stronger partnerships, and ensure that farmers' voices are heard where decisions shaping global food systems are made.
Already serving on the boards of Cooperatives Sweden and the ICMIF Foundation, Anna is a strong advocate for closer collaboration between farmer organisations, cooperatives, development partners and institutional donors to increase the impact and scale of farmer-led development.
Looking ahead, Anna is eager to work with her fellow Board members, the AgriCord Secretariat and all member organisations to strengthen this unique alliance and advance its shared mission. Together, we will continue to demonstrate that investing in organised farmers is an investment in food security, resilient communities and a more sustainable future.
Congratulations, Anna, on this well-deserved appointment.
