About The Event
In the face of accelerating climate change, farmers are not just on the frontlines of its impacts—they are also pivotal agents of transformation, providing the solutions to adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change in food systems. To truly unlock this potential of farmers as agents of change, research and innovation must be shaped with farmers, not merely for them.
This session explores how farmer-led research and innovation, supported by scientists, governments, and development partners, can drive policy innovation that transforms food systems from the ground up. By embedding farmers’ knowledge, priorities, and experiences at the heart of decision-making, we can reshape institutions and policies to foster inclusive, climate-resilient, and nutrition-sensitive food systems. Strengthening these farmer-driven pathways also opens the door to more effective, equitable, and higher-quality financing, ensuring that innovation reaches those who need it most.
Event objective
- Lesson learning from ongoing efforts of farmer-led research and innovation delivering change.
- Share perspectives from diverse stakeholder groups on strengthening ongoing efforts.
- Identify opportunities to collaborate to unlock greater financing and scale.
